The Abundant Life Christian Church would like to thank you for your participation in our 2007 Founder's Celebration! It was truly an awesome time of praise and thanksgiving for what God is continuing to do at Abundant Life, the City of San Marcos and the Central Texas Region.

Our special guests brought powerful words of encouragement and exhortation. Pastor Buntyn has been a beacon light for so many around the country! His visionary leadership is uncommon and we continue to celebrate what God is doing through him to change the atmosphere.

ALCC Birthday Party
The ALCC Birthday Party was an eventto remember! From our surprise guests, Dr William Buntyn and wife, to the krunk dance from our energetic teen ministry, to the games, gifts and food. If you missed it...you missed it! Stay tuned for pictures from the event.

Founder's Banquet
The Founder's Banquet was a testament to just how extensive a reach Pastor Buntyn has had. Many honored guests were present including his sister Bernadette Crosby, sons David Buntyn and Derek Pilgrim, Coach Stephen Van Nest, Curtis Price, Pastor Keith Graham (Now Word Community Church, San Antonio, Texas) Pastor Almond Dillard (First Baptist Church, SBC, San Marcos, Texas) and Mayor Susan Narvaiz.

Gene Banks, former NBA player, chronicled Pastor's influence in his life from an early age. His presentation showed, with great conviction, that Pastor has always been and continues to be a trailblazer and a motivator. His gift is precious and rare.

Mayor Narviaz described the impact he has had in this community/region and in her own life. She also presented a special City Proclamation. Coach Van Nest shared how Pastor has been an influence as the High School Athletics Chaplain. Pastor Almond Dillard described how Pastor has been a unifier and has displayed a Moses annointing for leading people to their promised land. The excellence that the ministry displays is a testiment to the excellence that lives in the Pastor.

This event exceeded our expectations. God is Great!

Keynote Speaker Bio
This year's Founder's Banquet was held on April 21 at 5pm at The Meeting Place in San Marcos.

Our keynote speaker was former NBA player and Duke University Hall of Famer, Gene Banks. Gene has been a personal friend of Pastor Buntyn's for many years. Their relationship stretches back to their teenage basketball playing days participating in an inter-state basketball tournament that Pastor Buntyn was instrumental in organizing.

A native of Philadelphia, PA, Gene chose Duke University over 300 plus universities and colleges in the United States. As a freshmen he led them to the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Championship game. After graduating with a BA in History, Gene was drafted by the NBA’s San Antonio Spurs and played four seasons with the Spurs along-side Hall of Fame great George “Iceman” Gervin and Artis Gilmore. He was later traded to the Chicago Bulls and joined up with the great Michael Jordan, where he was a starter for three seasons and considered one of the best defensive players in the league.

His love for God and wealth of experiences came together for a great time of impartation. We are honored to have had Gene with us for this occasion. Please join us in recognizing this great gift.
